(A Poem on the Martyrdom of the Four Sahibzaade)
ਛੋਟੀ ਉਮਰੇ ਵੀ ਸੀਸ ਧਰੇ, ਸਿੱਖੀ ਜੋਤ ਜਗਾਈ ਧਰੇ। ਗੁਰੂ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਲਾਲ, ਚਾਰ ਸਾਹਿਬਜ਼ਾਦੇ, ਸ਼ਹੀਦ ਬਾਲ।
(Chhoti umre vee sees dhare, Sikhi jot jagai dhare. Guru Gobind Singh jee de laal, Chaar Sahibzaade, shaheed baal.)
(Even at a young age, they laid down their heads, Kindled the light of Sikhism, they spread. The sons of Guru Gobind Singh Ji, Four Sahibzaade, martyred children.)
ਫਤਿਹਗੜ੍ਹ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੀ ਧਰਤੀ 'ਤੇ, ਲਿਖਿਆ ਸੀ ਇਤਿਹਾਸ ਸ਼ਹਾਦਤ ਦਾ ਪੱਤਰ। ਮਾਣ ਵਡਾ ਸੀ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ, ਧਰਮ ਲਈ ਸੀਸ ਵਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ ਭੈਣਾਂ-ਭਰਾਵਾਂ ਨੇ।
(Fatehgarh Sahib di dharti te, Likhya si itihaas shahadat da pattar. Maan vada si duniya de saamne, Dharm lai sees vaar ditta si bahan-bharawan ne.)
(On the land of Fatehgarh Sahib, Written was the epic of martyrdom's chapter. Great was their pride before the world, For religion, brothers and sisters gave their heads.)
ਬਾਬਾ ਅਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ, ਜੁਝਾਰੂ ਬਹਾਦਰ, ਬਾਬਾ ਜੂਝਾਰ ਸਿੰਘ, ਸ਼ੇਰ ਦਿਲ ਵਾਲਾ। ਬਾਬਾ ਜੋਰਾਵਰ ਸਿੰਘ, ਬਾਲਕ ਨਿਡਰ, ਬਾਬਾ ਫਤਹਿ ਸਿੰਘ, ਛੋਟਾ ਪਰ ਅਟਲ।
(Baba Ajit Singh, a brave warrior, Baba Jujhar Singh, lion-hearted. Baba Zorawar Singh, fearless child, Baba Fateh Singh, small but unwavering.)
ਠੰਡੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੀ ਗਰਮੀ ਸੀ, ਸਾਹਿਬਜ਼ਾਦਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਦਿਲਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ। ਸਿੱਖੀ ਦਾ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ ਦੇਣਾ ਸੀ, ਇਹੋ ਸੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਦਾ ਮਕਸਦ।
(Thande vich vee garmi si, Sahibzaadeyan de dilan vich. Sikhi da sandesh dena si, Eho si unhan da jeevan da maksad.)
(Even in the cold, there was warmth, In the hearts of the Sahibzaade. To give the message of Sikhism, This was the purpose of their lives.)
ਆਪਣੇ ਧਰਮ ਦੀ ਰਾਖੀ ਲਈ, ਲੜੇ ਸਨ ਸਾਹਿਬਜ਼ਾਦੇ ਬੇਬਾਕੀ ਨਾਲ। ਸ਼ਹਾਦਤ ਦਾ ਇਹ ਕੀਰਤਨ, ਗੂੰਜਦਾ ਰਹੇਗਾ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਲ।
(Apne dharm di rakhi lai, Laare san Sahibzaade bebaaki naal. Shahadat da eh kirtan, Goonjda rahega sada kaal.)
